Two projection variants were produced for the 2011 round: consistent with the published standard- and high-fertility population projections. These population projections incorporated development trajectories derived from the 2009 Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment.

The household model used for this round took household formation rates from DCLG’s 2008-based household projections.

These projections assume a higher age specific fertility trend beyond 2011 than is the case for the standard projections. The trend used was derived by taking the mean values of the Principal and High assumptions from the 2010-based National Population Projections.
