Complete data package of the South Atlantic rift kinematics data for the open source [GPlates](http://www.gplates.org) plate reconstruction software. The zip file contains:
- **Heine_SouthAtlanticRiftKinematics_Coastlines.shp:**
Present day coastlines based on the GSHHS data. Shapefile format.
- **Heine_SouthAtlanticRiftKinematics_PlatePolygons.shp:**
Closed plate polygons. Shapefile format.
- **Heine_SouthAtlanticRiftKinematics_LaLOC.shp:**
Line data for the location of the landward limit of oceanic crust (LaLOC) used in the plate model. Shapefile format.
- **Heine_SouthAtlanticRiftKinematics_Flowlines[xx].gpml:**
Flowlines illustrating the relative plate motions for the major plates in the South Atlantic. GPlates Markup Language format *.gpml.
- **Heine_SouthAtlanticRiftKinematics.rot:**

This zipped directory contains the data used to create Fig. 3 of the Heine et al., Kinematics of the South Atlantic Rift paper. The data are a set of 10 crustal scale cross sections along the conjugate South Atlantic margins with Moho, Top Basement and Seafloor horizons in ESRI shapefile format (location) and [GMT](http://gmt.soest.hawaii.edu) *.xyz format with lon-lat-depth information.
