Analysis of Brumadinho Dam Breaking from SRTM 30m

Study of flooding risk area due to the breaking of the dam of Brumadinho located in Minas Gerais region in Brazil. The drainage network and the flood area are extracted from a Digital Elevation Model generated from the NASADEM data in the horizontal resolution of 30 meters and using a threshold = 2000 m for the drainage network. Flooding area is provided with slices of 1, 5, 15, 30, 50 meters delimitating potential Flood Area Map. They are calculated respectively with the Terrahydro and the HAND algorithm provided by the Brazilian Organisation INPE. Sentinel images from the Copernicus program are used to digitally represent the study area around the dam: it has been classified and integrated with the flooding risk area.
