These figures are the average vehicle speeds during the weekday morning peak on A roads managed by the local authority in Herefordshire. This table excludes the A49 (which is not locally maintained in Herefordshire) and the M50 and A40. It measures average speed. Congestion tends to reduce the average speed on roads but is not the only reason for speeds to reduce (poor weather would also reduce average speeds).
